Tabęcki, who is set to graduate from the Karol Szymanowski Secondary Music School in Warsaw next month, started playing the clarinet at the age of six.
He is a prizewinner of several competitions, including the 2021 Future Stars International Online Festival in Italy, where he claimed the Grand Prix award.
Launched in 1982 and held every two years, the Eurovision Young Musicians contest is organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
In addition to Poland’s Tabęcki, musicians from 10 other countries—Armenia, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Norway, Serbia, Sweden and Switzerland—are expected to vie for prestigious accolades in Norway this summer.
Past winners of the Eurovision Young Musicians competition include three Poles: violinist Bartłomiej Nizioł (1992), pianist Stanisław Drzewiecki (2000), and saxophonist Łukasz Dyczko (2016).
